Looks are subjective – I liked the 308 GT4, but many people didn’t like that wedge look, it did resemble the Lotus Espirit to some degree (both were styled by Bertone). The Mondial design came from pininfarina, but it’s not one of their best designs in my opinion, not nearly as handsome as the 2 seat 308/328 bodies.

As for performance, the Mondial is newer and had the 32 valve engine (that’s what the QV means, quattro valvole or something like that – aka 4 valves per cylinder), so it has more power, and should perform better.

Reliability? this will depend more on how the car is treated and cared for (these are high maintenance cars), but since the Mondial is newer it’s probably going to be somewhat better on average, but definitely look for service records before buying a used Ferrari. If that timing belt breaks – BIG bucks to fix.

Don’t even thinking about buying one of these without a mechanic looking it over for you first.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net
